Our first assignment is a “reading” and written response.

Once you have downloaded and read the book, write a 3-4 paragraph response.
When you open the PDF, it should be clear that this is not a conventional reading. Do try to read all of the text, but also try to read into the meaning or logic of the piece.
You may love it or you may hate it. Feel free to share your thoughts, whatever they may be, but base your opinions on your knowledge of design, literature and contemporary art. If you find yourself at a loss for things to write, consider some of the following questions: What is the actual content of the text? How is it organized? And why? What is the basis for the design? What sort of images are at play? And why did the author/designer select the images that he did? What does the author/designer expect you to gain from this publication? How is this relevant to current trends in print and digital media?
Your response should be the equivalent of a one page paper. Post your response according to our posting guidelines. And please be ready to discuss this reading next week!
